Acoustic Noise & Cycle Skip Removal

($2.00) per 100 curve-feet

Compressional and Shear acoustic data needs to be edited for cycle skips and noise. Not correcting for these spurious readings will lead to interpretation error. Let Wallace International do the acoustic clean-up for you. We can do it easily within 12 hours. A little longer if you have multiple wells.

Description

Compressional and Shear acoustic log measurements usually need editing for cycle skips and noise. Cycle-skips are edited considering other log responses such as from density and resistivity logs. “Tight streaks” should, for example, be identified to ensure that incorrect sonic/acoustic editing is avoided. When the Compressional and Shear signal is affected by “noise”, statistical filtering is used in an attempt to improve the appearance.

To get started, simply enter in the Top and Base Depth and the number of curves you want Wallace International to noise filter or cycle skip correct. This information will determine the cost for the work.

Next, go to the payment/data submission page to:

    • Enter your name, address, phone number and E-mail
    • Make Your Payment
    • Read the Privacy Policy and Click on the “Agree” radio button
    • Finally, Click and Drag your data files to the “click and drag” area located on the page.

(Accepted file types are: LAS and TXT).

Finally, enter any relevant information that you might deem helpful in the information section (include the acoustic log measurements (Compressional, Shear or both) you want the Analyst to correct.

Wallace International can usually get your editing project back to you within 12 hours or less. However, if you have submitted a large amount editing then completion could take a little longer. But don’t worry, Wallace International will get your project right, and completed as fast as possible.
