Practical Reservoir Simulation
Practical Reservoir Simulation
This practical reservoir simulation course designed for reservoir engineers who plan to build and run reservoir simulation models. It is recommended to take Basic Reservoir Simulation course first.
This course provides practical training using reservoir simulation software (Selected from ECLIPSE, IMEX,GEM and STARS) . Also, it includes training on pre-processing and QC of data input, history matching and post-possessing of results. It will cover different field development scenarios as well as investigating impact of data uncertainty, to finalize the full field plan.
The course will cover:
- Defining simulation objective
- QC and creating static data input
- 3D geological model and petrophysical properties
- PVT
- Relative permeability
- Equilibrate model and estimate in place volumes
- QC and input well type, location and production and injection data
- History match
- Predict future performance including
- Infill drilling using horizontal or vertical wells
- Recompletion of existing wells
- Preparing a management presentation
