The course will provide the basic petrophysical principles as well as basic techniques and procedures to interpret commonly recorded log measurements.

At the end of the seminar the participant should be able to perform a quick-look interpretation (estimates of net pay, porosity and water saturation) for  sand and carbonate formations.

The course will cover:

  • Introduction to well logging
  • SP and Gamma Ray applications
    • Uses and limitations
  • Resistivity tool principles and applications
  • Acoustic tool principles and applications
  • Basic nuclear tool principles and applications
